About SERVE, Inc. and UNCG



SERVE, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 1991 as a support corporation to the SERVE Center and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) under IRS code 509(a)(3). The purpose of SERVE, Inc. is to supplement and complement the mission, objectives, and business activities of the SERVE Center at UNCG and the University.

SERVE, Inc. is an independent fiscal entity from UNCG through which short-term, fee-based services developed at the University are delivered to clients. These services range from online courses, training seminars, workshops, and customizing services for course development, website development, databases, and others upon request.

Through the use of experts and consultants affiliated with SERVE, Inc., the corporation maintains the capacity to provide technical assistance, professional development, and customized training services.

As a non-profit corporation, SERVE, Inc. is governed by its Board of Directors representing the interests of UNCG and the community at large. The Board establishes the business policies of the corporation. The corporation is housed in a modern office facility located at the Gateway University Research Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina. The corporation’s business and financial activities are directed by staff with long standing experience at the corporation and at UNCG. Since its inception, SERVE, Inc. has administered more than $30 million in sponsored awards and fee-for-service contractual agreements.
