About SERVE, Inc.

Our mission at SERVE, Inc. is to supplement and complement the strategic plan, objectives, and business activities of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the SERVE Center. SERVE, Inc. has a particular focus on initiatives that create Vibrant Communities and enhance the Health and Well-Being of citizens of the Triad and beyond.
Purpose
SERVE, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, established in 1991 as a support corporation to the SERVE Center and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Located in the Gateway University Research Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina, SERVE, Inc. offers training and events space on a beautiful office campus in the Triad region, convenient to the Piedmont Triad International Airport and transport links across North Carolina and beyond.
As an independent entity, SERVE, Inc. offers a range of competitively priced services to our clients. Drawing on the diverse skills and experience of our expert team of in-house professionals and consultants, SERVE, Inc. provides technical assistance, professional development, and customized training services. The services and products we offer range from creating and managing online courses, training seminars, and workshops, to custom services for course development, website development, databases, and other programs on request.
Our portfolio includes a diverse array of projects ranging in size and scope for a variety of clients. SERVE, Inc. projects are designed and delivered with efficiency, integrity, and cost-effectiveness in mind. Our mission is to develop dynamic, flexible, engaging solutions for a diverse range of clients and objectives, with a particular focus on enhancing the lives of people and communities across the state and beyond.

Project Development by SERVE, Inc. or the Office of Research Engagement
SERVE, Inc., a 509(a)(3) nonprofit corporation developed to support UNCG, conducts UNCG-related professional development and educational programs. SERVE, Inc. has a wide scope, but due to certain legislative requirements, some initiatives will instead be managed by the Office for Research Engagement (ORE).
SERVE, Inc. will conduct your project if it:
- is a service project.
- is a professional development program.
- is a UNCG credit-bearing course/program approved by the Provost.
- is a non-competitive project.
- is not a federal project.
- has no indirect cost provisions.
- is a project where UNCG is the sole source provider.
- is a one-time project.
Your project will be directed to ORE if it:
- is a federal grant or contract.
- allows for indirect costs.
- is awarded as part of a competitive bidding process.
- is a research rather than a service project.
