True Way ASL Workshop

The TRUE+WAY ASL (TWA) Curriculum Training workshop will introduce an innovative digital curriculum for the teaching of ASL. Presenters will begin by introducing participants to the origins and share an overview of the curriculum. A demonstration of TWA’s unique features such as Culture and Language Snapshots, Peer Observation Analysis (POA), and Self Observation Assessment Review (SOAR). Our unit matrixes will be introduced, which includes unit outcomes, grammar, structure, and the national standards (5 C’s). An overview of TWA’s production and comprehension assignments, quizzes and tests will also be discussed. Presenters will also do a hands-on activity with the searchable ASL-English bilingual dictionary, Signopardy! and discuss the concept of a community-based and community-built curricula.

The Workshop will be held at UNCG. Parking will be available for the Oakland Deck. For Friday March 22nd, 6-9pm, The School of Education Building, 212. For Saturday March 23rd, 9am - 6pm in Ferguson, 248.
$25 per person
